Hermann Richard Pfretzschner (born 1947) learned the craft of bowmaking between 1964 and 1966 in the family workshop from his father and grandfather and received the title of a masterbowmaker in 1972.

In September 1989, Hermann Richard and his family moved from Markneukirchen to Bad Endorf/Obb. to establish and lead the company
H. R. PFRETZSCHNER again as a selfreliant business.

In October 1989 the mark H. R. PFRETZSCHNER had been registered at the German Patentamt as a patented mark of Germany. Since the final founding of the company in 1990 the bows have been signed from that time on with the ® after the familystamp.

Ronny Richard also learned from 1997 to 2000 the craft of bowmaking in the workshop in Bad Endorf from his father Hermann Richard.

The old original workshop in Markneukirchen was closed in October 2000.
From that time on the original H. R. PFRETZSCHNER bows are only made and sold exclusively in Bad Endorf by Hermann Richard and his son Ronny.

Here are the masterbows made with overgiven and traditional experience for stringed instruments in real craftmenship. The bows, which have been exported for over 125 years now in the whole world, are played and honored from named musicians around the complete world.
